Sculpted Air is a series commissioned by a private client, inspired by repeating patterns in the natural world. Striations in stone, ripples in water, spores on a mushroom, shell indentations; repeated linework is a consistent pattern within nature. By reducing these repeating patterns to a monochrome, they take on a peaceful and meditative quality. Each piece was hand cut and layered into sculptural pieces by the artist.
