Designed as a moment of joy at the entrance of River’s Casino, this piece references the native wildlife that inhabit the surrounding prairies. Enlarged and gilded, the wings of insects and pollinators are elevated and honored for their complex beauty and their contribution to our ecosystem.

Each piece was designed by the artist digitally and then lasercut from metal and assembled offsite. The wings were affixed together in spaced layers that combine to create a layered piece that is several feet deep. Shifting lights illuminate the piece and cast shadows, adding a sense of

movement reminiscent of the fluttering of a wing.
